Wae Lolos, April 29, 2025 — The eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic (PLC) Catalyst Program team is carrying out an innovative project in Wae Lolos Village with the goal of exploring and digitizing the village’s cultural heritage and natural potential through the creation of an official website. This project is a tangible example of the younger generation’s contribution to supporting village development based on information technology. This initiative is funded by the Education Fund Management Agency through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology’s Self-Reliant Partnership Catalyst Program.

This multi-day event involved collaboration between the Katalisator PLC team and the local community, particularly the village’s youth. The website that was developed will not only serve as a platform for promoting tourism but will also function as a medium for preserving local culture, including traditional dances, language, local cuisine, and indigenous history.

“We see that Wae Lolos Village has extraordinary natural and cultural riches. Unfortunately, it is not yet widely known. With this website, we want to provide access to information and make this village better known to the outside world,” said the Catalyst Team Leader.

Through a participatory approach, community members are also trained to manage and update the website’s content independently going forward. This initiative is expected to foster digital self-reliance and support the vision of a tourism village rooted in local wisdom.

With this project, Wae Lolos Village is expected to emerge as a promising destination known not only for its natural beauty but also for its ability to adapt to digital advancements.
