LABUAN BAJO, East Nusa Tenggara — Politeknik eLBajo Commodus has graduated 134 students at its 6th Graduation Ceremony of 2026 in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia. According to the reported data, 53 percent of graduates have already secured employment, highlighting the role of vocational education in preparing a workforce that meets industry needs.
Three graduates received top academic honors. Antony Daniel Sunur, S.Tr.Par., from the Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Hotel Management, achieved a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.94. Wilburga S. Purnama, S.Tr.Ak., from the Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Tax Accounting, earned a GPA of 3.93, while Eufrasia Yusta Jelani, A.Md.Par., from the Diploma III Program in Ecotourism, graduated with a GPA of 3.85.
Director of Politeknik eLBajo Commodus, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Dasi Astawa, M.Si., congratulated the graduates on their achievements and emphasized that vocational education must produce graduates equipped with practical skills, professional certifications, integrity, and professionalism.
“Graduates of vocational higher education institutions must demonstrate competence, integrity, discipline, and professionalism in the workplace. We are committed to producing graduates who possess not only academic qualifications but also practical skills and professional certifications relevant to their respective fields, enabling them to compete in the job market and create business opportunities,” he said.
During the ceremony, the Director also introduced the Applied Master’s Degree Program in Marketing, Innovation, and Technology as part of the institution’s continued efforts to advance higher education in East Nusa Tenggara. The campus is also expanding its partnerships with businesses and industries to strengthen graduates’ preparedness for an increasingly competitive job market.
Noviana Halim, S.E., M.M., Chairperson of the Bangkit Anak NegeriKu Foundation, encouraged graduates to remain persistent and disciplined as they navigate the challenges that lie ahead after completing their studies.
“Never give up easily or lose hope. Whatever challenges you face, keep striving and moving forward. Always maintain discipline, as it is one of the key factors in achieving success,” she advised.
Meanwhile, Drs. Yohanes Hani, M.Pd., Head of the West Manggarai Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), who represented the local government, commended Politeknik eLBajo Commodus for its contribution to developing a competent workforce. He expressed hope that graduates would not only meet workforce demands but also help unlock local economic potential, establish independent businesses, and create employment opportunities for the community.
The 6th Graduation Ceremony marks an important milestone for graduates as they embark on their professional careers and contribute to regional development. By strengthening competencies, fostering discipline, and expanding industry partnerships, Politeknik eLBajo Commodus aims to continue producing adaptable and competitive graduates who can contribute meaningfully to the region’s future.
