Labuan Bajo, 9 November 2021_ Rangkaian kegiatan FGD Program Menara Vokasi 2021 mulai dilaksanakan oleh Kampus Politeknik eLBajo Commodus pada hari ini yang melibatkan kemitraan Pentahelix dari pemerintah, Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri (DUDI), komunitas, media massa dan juga akademisi dengan mengangkat tema “Membangun Peran Pentahelix Sebagai Akselerator Daerah” yang berlangsung di Puri Sari Beach Hotel, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur. || Labuan Bajo, November 9, 2021—The series of focus group discussions (FGDs) for the 2021 Menara Vokasi Program began today at the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic, involving a Pentahelix partnership among the government, the business and industrial sectors (DUDI), the community, the media, and academia. The event, held at the Puri Sari Beach Hotel in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, focused on the theme “Building the Role of the Pentahelix as a Regional Accelerator.”

Dalam sambutannya, Bapak Yohanes Hani selaku Plt. Kepala BAPEDA Manggarai Barat menyampaikan bahwa Pemda setempat juga ikut mendorong dengan upaya-upaya dalam meningkatkan SDM yang tentunya juga menbutuhkan dukungan dari kemitraan Pentahelix ini agar masyarakat Manggarai Barat tidak menjadi tamu di rumahnya sendiri. || In his remarks, Mr. Yohanes Hani, Acting Head of the West Manggarai Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPEDA), stated that the local government is also supporting efforts to improve human resources—efforts that, of course, require the support of this Pentahelix partnership—so that the people of West Manggarai do not become strangers in their own homes.

Hal ini ditanggapi juga oleh Ketua Kamar Dagang dan Industri (KADIN) Manggarai Barat Bapak Charles dengan mendorong pembentukan MoU bersama lembaga vokasi baik itu SMK yang ada di Manggarai Barat dan sekitarnya maupun Politeknik eLBajo Commodus sendiri, untuk memperkuat serapan tenaga kerja local yang ada. || This was also addressed by Mr. Charles, Chairman of the West Manggarai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), who called for the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with vocational institutions—including vocational high schools (SMK) in West Manggarai and the surrounding areas, as well as the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic itself—to strengthen the absorption of the local workforce.

Selain itu perwakilan dari Komunitas Manggarai Barat, Bapak Silvester Wanggel Ketua Perhimpunan Hotel Restoran Indonesia (PHRI) mengatakan bahwa pembangunan pariwisata harus berbasis masyarakat. Dimana dalam hal ini masyarakat Manggarai Barat sebagai subjek juga harus mengontrol dan ikut terlibat dalam pembangunan sektor pariwisata. || In addition, a representative from the West Manggarai Community, Mr. Silvester Wanggel, Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), stated that tourism development must be community-based. In this context, the people of West Manggarai, as the primary stakeholders, must also exercise control over and actively participate in the development of the tourism sector.

FGD pertama ini menghasilkan rencana format Kerjasama dan kemitraan antara masing-masing unsur Pentahelix berdasarkan pada masukan dan saran dari masing-masing pihak. Dan hal ini akan ditindaklanjuti dalam FGD berikutnya. || This first FGD resulted in a proposed framework for cooperation and partnership among the various components of the Pentahelix model, based on input and suggestions from each party. This will be followed up in the next FGD.
